Banjarmasin \u2013<\/strong> The Head of the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Unit of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), Nuruddin Wiranda<\/strong>, was invited as one of the speakers at the Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Function<\/strong> of the South Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kalsel)<\/strong> for the 2024 fiscal year, held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024<\/strong>. On this occasion, he represented the ICT Academic Support Unit (UPA TIK) of ULM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event took place at the Convention Hall of Hotel Banjarmasin Internasional<\/strong> under the theme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe ICT Function of South Kalimantan Regional Police and Its Units Ready to Support a Conducive Security Situation (Kamtibmas) in the Democratic Process for the Acceleration of Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Transformation.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Other speakers included Suhartono Khamtoro<\/strong>, Head of the ICT Subdivision (Kasubbid Teknologi Informasi) of Polda Kalsel, and Bambang Albita Surya<\/strong>, Head of the Telecommunication Technology Subdivision (Kasubbid Teknologi Komunikasi) of Polda Kalsel. The event was officially opened by Kholilur Rochman<\/strong>, Head of the ICT Division (Kabid TIK) of Polda Kalsel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his presentation, Wiranda<\/strong> discussed various types of cyberattacks and preventive measures to counter them. He also elaborated on the concept of the Zero Trust Security Model<\/strong> and industry standards such as OWASP Top 10, NIST Framework, ISO 27001, and ISO 27002<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, attacks on websites\u2014especially those using open-source CMS\u2014can be minimized by developing custom plugins and themes or at least purchasing premium versions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAvoid using free or pirated versions, as they are prone to malware and backdoor infections. For CMS platforms that have already been compromised, it\u2019s essential to disable all access, including plugins and themes, and only reopen them under strict, selective, and verified access control,\u201d he explained to participants.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

When asked about being invited as a speaker, Wiranda<\/strong> expressed his enthusiasm, noting that the event offered a valuable opportunity to engage with an external professional environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud to contribute and represent ULM in such a special forum. Even though cybersecurity remains a sensitive topic today, I\u2019m glad to share knowledge that could help strengthen digital security awareness,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
