Aranio, Banjar Regency – The Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program (PS) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held Field Work Practices (PKL) activities in the form of service in 5 State Elementary Schools (SDN) in the Aranio District area, Banjar Regency, namely SDN Banua Riam, SDN Artain, SDN Kala’an, SDN Tiwingan Baru, and SDN Tiwingan Lama. The PKL participants are 5th and 7th semester PGSD PS students.

The group, totaling 52 people, departed early in the morning from Banjarmasin. The trip to the location took about 3 hours, because the school is located on an island that can only be reached by kelotok. Students and lecturers who arrived at the dock immediately transited using the kelotok to their respective school destinations.

Students and lecturers who came to the school handed over various items that had been prepared to the school including books made by lecturers, souvenirs of student skills and learning media made by students and lecturers. The gift is expected to help improve the quality of education in the school. After all the handover sessions were completed, students and lecturers carried out service tasks. Students enter the classes that have been divided. Each group of students is assigned to teach in a different class according to the schedule that has been prepared. Meanwhile, lecturers and teachers in the room listen to the delivery of material from lecturers who act as resource persons.

In addition to formal learning activities, students also bring tools and introduce traditional games such as engrang batok, balogo, jump rope (tali ulai), congklak (dakwan), and intingan. These games were introduced so that children know and want to play them as an alternative game in the midst of the rampant use of smartphones by children. The activity ended with a closing ceremony which was held at around 13.30 WITA. The Principal expressed his gratitude to the students and lecturers for the assistance and service provided. The event was closed with a group photo of all PKL participants, teachers, and students. (admin)
