Badung, Bali – Students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) won the National Level Essay Competition 3 (LETIN 3) as gold medalists and 1st runner-up. This competition is a collaboration between Diyana Pura University and Lembaga Setara Prisma Nusantara (Nusantara Muda). This competition is one of the annual programs of Nusantara Muda Institute held in Bali. This competition was attended by 476 participants. FETT ULM students involved in this essay competition included Ibenia Waruwu, Alvince Stevani Lase, and Eirene Kardiani Zalukhu from the Chemistry Education Department of FETT ULM, along with two other team members, Yoris Mardianus Harefa from the Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FPMIPA) ULM, and Try Sepakat Zalukhu from the Bandung Institute of Technology. The team was mentored by Yogo Dwi Prasetyo, a lecturer in Chemistry Education at FPMIPA.
According to the team leader, Ibenia Waruwu, they started making ideas related to the field around December 2023. On March 28, 2024, they were announced as finalists and made presentations in Bali. The administrative process of re-registration and other preparations began from the announcement until the end of April 2024. The team arrived in Bali on May 4-5, 2024. They won the 1st Gold Medal for Education & 1st runner-up in the Essay Presentation Category. “Finally, this is not the end for us. There are still many other competitions that can be followed with creative and innovative ideas related to current issues that we must solve and achieve together,” said Ibeni. Meanwhile, Yogo, as the supervisor, admitted that he was very grateful for the achievements of Ibenia and the other teams and hoped that it could be a motivation for other students.
