Banjarmasin – The Performing Arts Education Study Program (PSP) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a public lecture with ‘Arts Education in the Digital Era 4.0’ on Thursday, April 25, 2024. The activity was held in Hasan Bondan Hall from 083.0-12.00 WITA. The activity was opened by the PSP Coordinator, Muhammad Budi Zakia Sani, and attended by PSP lecturers and students. This public lecture presented a guest speaker, Doctor of Art Education at State University of Malang, Wida Rayahuningtyas.
According to Budi Zakia, this activity is expected to provide additional knowledge for students considering that in this era, the demand for the utilization of technology-based media in learning is important. “We hope that through this lecture, lecturers and students will be encouraged to apply IA (artificial intelligence) and use social media to create art, such as dance or music that is integrated with technology,” he said.
In her presentation, Wida conveyed the changing paradigm of art today, including (1) art is no longer limited to traditional media, (2) art now collaborates closely with other fields such as technology, science, and design. This interdisciplinary approach enriches the student experience, and (3) technology enables more personalized and adaptive art learning according to the needs and learning styles of each student. According to him, the transformation of the performing arts industry includes (1) digitalization of performance content, (2) Accessing art through digital platforms, (3) collaborative creativity in artists and technology to explore new forms of performing arts, and (4) digital performance snei provides a different viewing experience for the audience.
