Banjarmasin – The Chemistry Education Student Association (HIMKI) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) on Saturday, May 4, 2024, held a HIMKI Teaching activity from 10.00-13.00 WITA at SDN Pulau Alalak, Barito Kuala Regency. A number of parties participated in this activity, including students of the elementary school who have limited access to learning; the SDN teacher council; the Coordinator of the FKIP ULM Chemistry Education Study Program (PS), Rusmansyah; lecturers in the FKIP ULM Chemistry Education PS; HIMKI coach, Yogo Dwi Prasetyo; all active HIMKI administrators for the 2024-2025 period, and members of the HIMKI Organizational Advisory Board (DPO) for the 2024/2025 period.

According to the chairman of the committee, Aliman, the main activity of HIMKI Teaching is the practice of teaching and providing educational activities carried out by HIMKI administrators to elementary school children to increase student interest in learning. This activity was also filled with quiz games and demonstrations of simple chemical experiments conducted by the committee. “These experiments are expected to increase curiosity and love for science or scientific science, especially chemistry. Experiments are also carried out by students. In addition, there is a handover of gifts or mementos, a number of compensation funds and learning support facilities that are useful for children collected through donations and volunteers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Anisa, Chairperson of HIMKI, expressed her gratitude to all parties who contributed to this event, especially the teachers and students of SDN Pulau Alalak who collaborated in this activity. “Thank you to the teachers who welcomed our presence and even treated us with regional specialties from Pulau Alalak. The students are also very smart, very active and creative. In addition, they are also competitive and very respectful of teachers or anyone who teaches. Hopefully SDN Pulau Alalak can continue to develop even though it is underdeveloped and hopefully it can get A accreditation as soon as possible.
