Bandar Lampung – The leadership of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) including the Dean, Sunarno Basuki; Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Deasy Arisanty; Deputy Dean for General and Financial Affairs, Dharmono; Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Ali Rachman attended the Interim Meeting of the Communication Forum (Forkom) of State FETTs throughout Indonesia in 2024 which was held at Rodison Hotel and Lampung University (Unila), Bandar Lampung on May 2-5, 2024. The host of this meeting was FETT Unila. The main agenda of this meeting includes National Dialogue activities, Leadership Meeting, Visit to the Lampung Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda), dharmawanita agenda, and friendship.
The National Dialogue activity was held in the FKIP Unila Hall by presenting the main speaker, Professor and Rector of Unila, Lusmelia Afriani and Director of Resources of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), Muhammad Sofwan Effendi. The National Dialogue was held on Friday, May 2, 2024 from 08.30-11.00 WIB. Another activity, the Leadership Meeting, was also held at FKIP Unila on the same day from 13.30-15.00 WIB.
The Leadership Meeting consists of 4 meetings, namely the dean’s meeting, the vice dean’s meeting for academic affairs, the vice dean’s meeting for general and financial affairs, and the dean’s meeting for student affairs and alumni. In the deans’ meeting, according to the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki, there were three important things that were discussed, namely the difficulty of FKIP in recruiting foreign students so that a special strategy was needed to overcome this. “The strategy that will be prepared is homework for the deans towards the Forkom FKIP Summit throughout Indonesia at Sriwijaya University (Unsri) on September 19-22,” he explained.
The second thing that was discussed was the financing of Teacher Professional Education (PPG) from the local government in a cooperation agreement scheme. This kind of scheme was previously implemented in 2018-1019 but was considered less effective due to slow payments from local governments. It is hoped that if this scheme is re-implemented, similar obstacles can be anticipated. Another matter discussed at this meeting was the international accreditation assessment which apparently cannot be harmonized with the assessment score from the Education Accreditation Institute (Lamdik). Thus, the Study Program (PS) must carry out two accreditations if it wants to be accredited nationally and internationally. This certainly feels tiring to go through. Related to this, according to Sunarno Basuki, at the Summit, the Head of Lamdik is recommended to attend and provide an explanation.
At the leadership meeting of the vice deans for academic affairs, Deputy Dean of FKIP ULM, Deasy Arisanty conveyed a number of important recommendations from this meeting, including (1) discussion of international cooperation related to research and service, (2) plans for guest lectures between Forkom FKIP member universities, and (3) international accreditation institutions for PS in FKIP. According to him, related to these three things, FETT ULM responded well to follow up.
At the meeting of vice deans for general and financial affairs, Vice Dean of FKIP ULM, Dharmono said that there were two important things discussed, namely (1) equalizing perceptions regarding the payment of honorariums for financial managers at the faculty level, and (2) equalizing perceptions regarding the allocation of institutional development budgets in PPG financial management. According to Dharmono, further discussion on this matter will be held at a meeting of vice deans for general and financial affairs at Sebelas Maret State University (UNS), Solo, before the Summit.
Meanwhile, in a meeting of the vice deans for student affairs and alumni which was also attended by the Deputy Dean of FKIP ULM, Ali Rachman, it was decided about the competitions that students could participate in at the Forkom summit later, including microteaching competitions, learning video competitions, Indonesian language debate competitions, English debate competitions, scientific writing competitions, creation dance competitions, and solo vocal competitions.
