Kendari – The team of students from the Physical Education Study Program (Penjas) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) who were recently selected to take part in the 2024 Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship Expo (KMI) at Haluoleo University, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi on October 23-25, 2024, won 1st runner-up. They are Muhammad Roid Abror, Muhammad Bagus Pratama, Norshifa Wardaniah, and Melinda Fitri, as well as 1 Field Supervisor (DPL), Lazuardy Akbar Fauzan. The team worked on the Kickass Arena Consultant and Fitness Classes entrepreneurship project.
KMI is an Indonesian student competition organized by the Directorate General (Dirjen) of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbusritek) which is regularly held every year. KMI is the culminating event of the P2MW program, namely the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship Development Program in the form of selective funding for the entrepreneurial programs of student teams that pass the selection. After the business is running, the selected group will participate in the KMI expo to win the KMI Award.
The assessment categories in this competition are the ‘start-up’ category and the ‘growing’ category with a total of 743 teams participating. The PS Penjas student team itself won 1st runner-up in the growing category which implies that the business must have been running for at least the last year. Regarding this victory, Lazuardy hopes that in the future there will be more student teams from FKIP ULM that can qualify for this competition. He also hopes that the assistance for this competition can also be maximized. “There were 150 proposals selected of which 20 proposals were sent to the Director General of Belmawa Kemdikbudristek. There were 12 proposals that were funded and 3 teams at ULM made it through the selection at the KMI Expo, including our team,” Lazuardy explained.
