Sendikom 2024 is back, Promoting the Application of AI and Internet of Things in Learning

Banjarmasin – The Computer Education Study Program (Pilkom) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) once again held the National Seminar on Computer Education (Sendikom) for 2024. This activity was held at Swissbell Hotel Borneo from 08.00-12.30 WITA, and continued with a parallel session of exposure from 15 presenting participants. The event was opened by the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dharmono, and attended by the Head of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (JPMIPA), lecturers and students in the Pilkom PS FKIP ULM.

Three speakers were asked to fill in the material at this seminar. they are Professor of Telkom University, Suyanto who delivered material on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Education; doctoral and lecturer in the department of computer science and technology at Gajah Mada University (UGM), Agfianto Eko Putra who delivered material on the Role of AloT Applications (Artificial Intelligence of Things) in Smart Classrooms, and the Coordinator of the Pilkom Study Program (Korprodi), Harja Santana Purba delivered material on the Utilization of AI in Internships and Certified Independent Studies (MSIB) and Independent Studies.

One of the speakers, Agfianto Eko Putra, explained about AloT. According to him, AloT is a combination of AI technology and The Internet of things (AIoT) infrastructure . The goal of AloT is to create more efficiency in internet operations, increase the capacity of human-machine interaction and improve data management and analysis. Meanwhile, smart classrooms are spaces that integrate various technological tools and devices to create a more interactive, engaging and efficient learning environment. The application of AloT in smart classrooms can create interactive learning tools, environmental monitoring, attendance and participation tracking, and enhance personalized learning experiences, as well as improve collaboration and communication.

Related to this activity, in his presentation, Korprodi PS Pilkom, Harja Santana Purba said that the speaker’s explanation was the ideal condition that became the target in learning at PS Pilkom. According to him, there is a great potential for AI education that can be developed in PS, so adjustments are needed in an effort to achieve it. (admin)
