Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) for the third time earlier this year received assessors from the Education Self Accreditation Institute (Lamdik) who conducted a Field Assessment (AL). This time the AL was held for the Social Science Education S1 Study Program (PS). The activity was held in the FETT ULM environment and centered in the FETT ULM Professor Meeting Room for two days, Friday-Saturday, January 26-27, 2024. The two assessors in charge of the AL this time were Professor of Prof. Dr. Hamka Muhammadiyah University, Suswandari, and Professor of Mataram State University, Syafruddin. Both conducted assessments at UPPS (Study Program Management Unit), which is the faculty accompanied by ULM Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Iwan Aflanie; Vice Rector for Cooperation, Public Relations, and Information Systems, Yusuf Azis; Head of ULM’s Quality Assurance and Learning Development Institute (LPMPP), Agung Nugroho. In addition to UPPS, the assessment was also carried out at the Social Studies Education Study Program, followed by an assessment of stakeholders, alumni, students, education staff (tendik) and lecturers of Social Studies Education Study Program. The assessment is also carried out on infrastructure facilities, and the microteaching process.

This activity was opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Iwan Aflanie, after which it was continued by listening to remarks from the two assessors. Meanwhile, after handing over the minutes at the end of the activity, the assessors gave a number of positive notes for the Social Studies Education Study Program and FKIP ULM as UPPS. Among these notes, in terms of research, especially international research, the PS is considered to have a good concentration in this field so that it appears that the research carried out is so professional. UPPS and the University are also considered to have facilitated very well the research that supports the vision and mission of ULM wetlands.

On the other hand, in exploring the alumni, it is known that what they have learned in the PS has helped them get jobs and develop their careers, especially the implementation of contextual learning. The specialty of the PS in ethnopedagogics is also very good, and is recommended to continue to be developed. With this good record, hopefully Social Studies Education will get the best results as expected. (admin)
