MBKM Unit of FKIP ULM Holds Socialization and Send-off for Teaching Assistance Program Students for Even Semester 2024/2025

Banjarmasin — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University (FKIP ULM), through the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Unit, held a socialization and send-off event for students participating in the Teaching Assistance (Asistensi Mengajar or AM) program, who will carry out their assignments in various educational institutions during the 2024/2025 even semester.

The event took place on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the General Building of FKIP ULM and was divided into two sessions. The first session was attended by students from the Science Education, Chemistry Education, Civic Education, Sociology Education, and Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) programs. The second session involved students from nine other study programs, including Biology Education, Social Studies Education, Early Childhood Education (PG PAUD), and Educational Technology. In total, more than 900 students participated in the briefing sessions.

The event began with registration, followed by the opening by MC Rizky Febriani Putri, the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, and a prayer led by M. Arsyad. Remarks on behalf of the faculty leadership were delivered by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Deasy Arisanty, who also officially sent off the students for the Teaching Assistance program.

In her remarks, Dr. Deasy expressed her appreciation and encouragement to the students who are about to embark on their teaching journey. “The Teaching Assistance program is not just a requirement to fulfill academic credits; it is also a valuable opportunity to hone pedagogical, social, and professional competencies as future educators. We hope you can adapt well to your assigned schools, perform at your best, and uphold the good name of our alma mater,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the MBKM Unit, Raisa Fadilla, emphasized the importance of active communication and responsibility during the students’ roles as teaching assistants. She also encouraged students to use this experience as an early reflection in shaping themselves into resilient and solution-oriented educators.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion and Q&A session, followed by a group photo. This moment marked an important starting point for students to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in campus to real-life classroom practices. This program is also part of FKIP ULM’s commitment to supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
