AL Science Education FKIP ULM, Assessor: Improve Quality Toward International Accreditation

Assessors conduct visitation of infrastructure facilities

Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) in February 2024 for the seventh time, received assessors from the Education Self-Accreditation Institute (Lamdik) who conducted a Field Assessment (AL) for the Natural Science Education S-1 Study Program (PS). This activity was centered in the FETT ULM Professor Meeting Room for two days, Friday-Saturday, February 16-17, 2024. The two assessors in charge of the AL of Science Education were Professor of the University of Education Indonesia, Diana Rochintaniawati, and Doctor of Surabaya State University, Muhammad Budiyanto.

The activity was opened by the Rector of ULM, Ahmad Aliem Bahri and attended by the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki; Deputy Dean for General and Financial Affairs, Dharmono; Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Ali Rahman; Secretary of ULM’s Quality Assurance and Learning Development Institute (LPMPP), Arif Solahuddin; Head of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (JPMIPA), Syahmani; Coordinator of Science Education Study Program, Syubhan Annur; Head of the General Section of FKIP ULM, Ani Isdiati Basri; Head of the Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) FKIP ULM, Ananda Setiawan and the UPM team, Saiyidah Mahtari, Nurul Hidayati Utami, Meliyana Aini, Muhammad Muhaimin, Sauqinah, Tika Puspita Widya Rini, and Imelda Indah Savitri; Heads of Subdivisions: Ida Auliani, Isnawati, and Akmil Fuadi Rahman; Head of the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Unit of FKIP ULM, Nuruddin Wiranda; Head of the Cooperation and Public Relations Management Unit (UPKH), Emma Rosana Febriyanti; and lecturers in the Science Education Study Program.

The two assessors conducted the assessment with the UPPS (Study Program Management Unit) assessment agenda, namely the faculty who was appointed by the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki; assessment of the AL PS Science Education task force team, followed by interviewing stakeholders, alumni, education staff (tendik), as well as lecturers and students of PS Science Education. The assessment was also carried out on infrastructure facilities, and the microteaching process.

In the closing session, in addition to signing the minutes, the assessor also gave a number of notes for the Science Education PS FKIP ULM. The assessors have assessed both the scientific vision and mission of the institution with its characteristics and see that the tridarma tools have been maximized to achieve it. On the other hand, the assessor hopes that in order to increase the level of accreditation at international accreditation agencies, it is hoped that the Science Education Study Program can increase the quantity and quality of educational laboratories, learning labs, applied labs, and improve the quality of pure labs. PS is also expected to further increase support for students to carry out MBKM activities, improve academic and non-academic achievements, especially at the national and international levels. Lecturers are also expected to prepare themselves for further study and increase their rank, especially functional rank.

Meanwhile, in his closing remarks, the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki, expressed his gratitude for the appreciation and input given. He stated that his party had committed to increasing the quantity and quality of infrastructure facilities, especially laboratories through the disbursement of BOPTN (State Higher Education Operational Assistance) funds. UPPS is also committed to encouraging further studies of lecturers by providing study funding assistance with a collaboration scheme with a number of universities.

Hopefully the Science Education PS FKIP ULM will achieve the best assessment in study program accreditation. (admin)
