Banjarmasin – The Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Study Program (PS) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) on Saturday-Sunday, June 29-30, 2024, held a Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) Competency Test for Participants in Teacher Professional Education (UKPPPG) for pre-service students in batch 1 of 2023. The activity was held in 7 computer laboratories (labkom), namely the Computer Education labkom, Educational Technology labkom, Mathematics Education labkom, Mathematics Science Education labkom, Science Economics Education labkom, Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) labkom on the 1st floor and 2nd floor. Each room has a capacity of about 20 participants and is managed by 1 supervisor and 1 proctor. The test was divided into 2 sessions, namely session 1 in the morning (07.00-11.10 WITA) and session 2 in the afternoon (12.00-16.10 WITA).
This test was attended by 426 participants consisting of 12 people in the field of Indonesian Language studies, 15 people in the field of Guidance and Counseling studies, 141 people in the field of Natural Sciences (IPA), 52 people in the field of Social Sciences (IPS), 30 people in the field of Mathematics, 125 people in the field of PGSD studies, 14 people in the field of Health Physical Education studies, 27 people in the field of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKN), and 10 people in the field of History studies.
UTBK-UKPPPG 2024 at TUK (Competency Test Site) ULM was also attended by a supervisory team from the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel (Dirjen GTK) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbud), Hermanto; and an element of Higher Education from Semarang State University, Sri Wahyuni. The team is tasked with monitoring and evaluating the implementation of UKPPPG.
According to Sri Wahyuni, the presence of supervisors aims to ensure that UKPPPG runs well in accordance with the provisions. “Aspects that are monitored include the readiness of infrastructure facilities, especially the internet network and its stability considering that this exam is computer-based. Another thing that is no less important is whether the exam protocol is carried out by the committee properly to prevent cheating,” he said. Hermanto added that his party also checks whether supervisors are doing their job properly, and whether participants get satisfactory exam services, including the availability of transit rooms, health rooms, and spaces to put items that should not be brought in during the exam. “We will also look at the best practice of organizing this exam by the committee to see where the excellence of the organizers from TUK ULM is,” he said.
In carrying out their duties, the team was satisfied with the performance of the PS PPG manager, the exam committee, and the supervisors. All are considered to have worked well, this is evident, among other things, from the assessment of students interviewed about the course of the test. The committee carried out their duties professionally, understood, and were alert to what their respective duties were. Even if there were obstacles, it was more on technical matters beyond the committee’s control such as problematic questions.
Regarding the implementation of this UKPPPG UTBK, the Coordinator of PS PPG, Hidayah Ansori expressed his gratitude. “Alhamdulillah, the implementation of the UKPPPG Written Test for PPG Prajab Wave 1 students in 2023 has been completed and is running smoothly. The supervisor or monev team gave some notes for improvement and in the next activity it can be applied. The committee is considered active in providing guidance, information and responsive to questions or exam preparation problems faced by examinees. The supervisor praised the performance of the IT Team, proctors, supervisors, and committee. Hopefully in the future ULM will still be trusted as a place to carry out the exam,” he said. (admin)
