Deliberation of the Indonesian PS PBSI Association Elects Professor of PS PBSI FKIP ULM as the Executive Board

Professors of PS PBSI FKIP ULM, Jumadi and Rusm Noortyani were elected as Chair and Secretary of IKAPROBSI Kalimantan Region.

Mataram – Professors of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), Jumadi and Rusma Noortyani were elected as Chairperson and Secretary of the Association of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Programs (IKAPROBSI) Kalimantan Region for the period 2024-2028.

IKAPROBSI itself held a National Work Meeting (Rakernas) as well as an International Seminar at Aruna Hotel, Lombok, on August 9-11, 2024. The event was attended by 241 participants from various universities throughout Indonesia including ULM. The purpose of this activity is to discuss various current issues in the development of Indonesian language and literature education.

The Chairperson of the Committee, Prof. Dr. Indrya Mulyaningsih, M.Pd., stated that one of the main focuses of this activity is strengthening literacy, which is in accordance with the big theme carried, namely strengthening literacy in the context of the times. Rector of Universitas Mataram (Unram) who is also a Professor of Unram, Bambang Hari Kusumo as the host in his speech expressed the hope that Indonesian can become an international language. He invited all parties to be optimistic that Indonesian can be equal to English as an international language.

The Rakernas and IKAPROBSI 2024 International Seminar also served as a venue for collaboration between academics, practitioners, and other stakeholders. The participants had the opportunity to present their research results, discuss, and establish partnerships. Chairperson of IKAPROBSI who is also a Professor at Sebelas Maret State University, Sarwiji Suwandi, stated that this activity was an important moment to strengthen organizational solidity and improve the quality of Indonesian language and literature education.

Congratulations to the Professors of PS PBSI ULM who received the mandate to manage the IKAPROBSI Kalimantan region. Hopefully given the spaciousness in carrying out the task. (admin)
