Strengthening Communication with Partner Schools, FKIP ULM’s MBKM Unit Holds Teaching Assistance Discussion

Banjarmasin – The Merdeka Campus Learning Unit (MBKM) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) regarding the implementation of Teaching Assistance (AM) in Education Units for the odd semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. This activity is part of an effort to optimize the implementation of the AM program for FETT ULM students. The FGD activity was held in the smart classroom room on Monday, July 15, 2024. This activity was opened by the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki and attended by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Deasy Arisanty; Head of the MBKM Unit, Raisa Fadilla; Unit Secretaries, Hendro Yulius Suryo Putro and Arum Murdianingsih, as well as representatives of partner schools.

In his opening remarks, Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki emphasized the importance of this AM program in preparing students to become competent teachers who are ready to face challenges in the world of education. He hopes that this activity can run well in the future. After the opening, the discussion continued with the presentation of material by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Deasy Arisanty about the technical implementation of AM in the Education Unit for the odd semester of 2024-2025. According to him, the synergy between FETT and partner schools in the success of this program is very important to do.

In the group discussion session, participants shared their experiences, challenges and solutions related to the implementation of this program in the field. The discussion was active and constructive with various inputs and suggestions from partner schools that are expected to increase the effectiveness of the program. From the results of the discussion, some important points generated were the need for increased coordination between FKIP ULM and partner schools in student placement; provision of more intensive training and mentoring for students before going to partner schools; periodic assessment and evaluation of the implementation of the AM program to ensure the quality and relevance of activities.

Chairperson of the MBKM Unit, Raisa Fadilla hopes that the results of this FGD can be applied in the implementation of the AM program in the next semester so that it can provide maximum benefits for students, faculty, and partner schools. “This activity is our commitment to be able to continue to improve the quality of the AM program itself,” she said.
