Yogyakarta – The Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) on Friday, April 26, 2024 conducted benchmarking activities in order to study the quality assurance process, especially those related to international accreditation at two universities in Yogyakarta, namely Gajah Mada University (UGM) and Yogyakarta State University (UNY). In this benchmarking activity, UPM was accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Deasy Arisanty and the Vice Dean for General and Financial Affairs, Dharmono. The UPM team that participated in this activity included the Head of UPM, Ananda Setiawan and other team members: Saiyidah Mahtari, Nurul Hidayati Utami, Sauqina, Tika Puspita Widya Rini, Muhammad Muhaimin, Meliyana Aini, and Imelda Indah Savitri.

At UGM, the team was received by the Head of the UGM Quality Assurance and University Reputation Unit (SPMRS), Indra Wijaya Kusuma and other SPMRS teams. In the discussion about international accreditation, the team was accompanied by the Coordinator of SPMRS, Widya Wasityastuti and her member, Darmawan. In the discussion, it was known that the accreditation process at UGM had been carried out for a long time, even before the rules on international accreditation in Indonesia. According to Widya, what must be considered by quality assurance institutions is the implementation of PPEPP (Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement) or PDCA(Plan-Do-Check-Act) at the Study Program (PS) and Faculty levels, so that the International Accreditation Agency can be convinced by the processes carried out by the institution. No less important is that the curriculum must be OBE (Outcame Based Education) which is globally oriented. UGM also provides flexibility for accreditation financing, and can be budgeted at the PS level or at the faculty level. This can be done because UGM is a Limited Liability Company (PT) State University – Legal Entity (PTN-BH).

Meanwhile, at UNY, the UPM team was received by the Director of the Directorate of Quality Assurance (DPM) UNY who is also a Professor, Aman; Secretary of DPM, Endah Retnowati; Head of Quality Assurance Center, Wagiran; Secretary of Quality Assurance, Firmansyah; Head of Accreditation Certification Center, Dwiyanto Djoko Pranowo; and Secretary of Accreditation Certification Center, Dyah S. Ciptaningrum. From the discussion with DPM UNY, it was known that UNY already has several study programs that have been accredited internationally. According to them, what needs to be done in this international accreditation process is to ensure that the quality culture can run well. In addition, UNY has also carried out Internal Quality Audit (AMI) periodically every year, so that the implementation of the Tridarma of Higher Education in each PS can be monitored regularly.

According to Ananda Setiawan, this benchmarking activity is an important agenda for UPM. This activity was carried out with the aim of finalizing the preparation of the accreditation process that FETT ULM has started in the last two years, especially in terms of quality assurance. “FETT ULM already has 20 excellent accredited study programs, and 1 A accredited study program, meaning we have been recognized at the national level. It’s time for us to run for recognition at the world level through international accreditation,” he said. (admin)
