Banjarmasin – Friday, March 3, 2023, the English Language Education Study Program (PS) of the Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a dissemination activity as well as an introduction to EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) by presenting the main speaker Sisilia Setiawati, Ph. D. from the University of Indonesia. This activity was carried out in the English Language Education laboratory of FKIP ULM. The participants invited were lecturers from the English Education Study Program FKIP ULM and lecturers from the Study Program who are planning to take part in international accreditation, namely lecturers from the Economics Education Study Program, Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program (PKn), Sociology Education Study Program. It is hoped that this dissemination can help these study programs prepare themselves to accept exchange students from outside Indonesia.
This activity started at 09.00 WITA and was opened by the Coordinator of the English Education Study Program, Noor Eka Chandra. Next is the presentation by the key informant, namely, General Outlook of EMI + Challenges/ Common Issues on EMI. Further material was still delivered by the main resource person, Sisilia, regarding Giving a Lecture in EMI Context. After the afternoon break, the program continued with Lecture and Interactive Teaching in EMI Context material by the Coordinator of the English Education Study Program, Noor Eka Chandra, and material on Translanguaging by the Secretary of the English Education Study Program, Yusuf Al Arief.
