Banjarmasin – The Social Science Education Study Program (PIPS) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) on Wednesday, 26/02 held a guest lecture by presenting the newly appointed Deputy Mayor of Banjarmasin, Ananda. This public lecture was themed Strengthening Banjarmasin City Insights to Increase Students’ Local Knowledge. The event was opened by the Deputy Dean for General and Financial Affairs, Dharmono and attended by the Coordinator of PS PIPS, Mutiani; as well as lecturers and students in PS PIPS. The event was held in Hasan Bondan Hall starting at 09.00 WITA.
In his opening remarks, Dharmono expressed his appreciation for the organization of the public lecture and his gratitude for the arrival of the Deputy Mayor of Banjarmasin, Ananda. According to him, Ananda himself can be used as an inspiration for students who want to achieve achievements. In addition, he also hopes that PS PIPS, which has creative young lecturers, can continue to work together.
In his presentation session, Ananda discussed a number of aspects related to Banjarmasin City, ranging from history, culture, economic potential, to social issues that still need special handling such as waste which today is still a major challenge for the Banjarmasin City government to be addressed immediately. Ananda also invited the students to actively participate in maintaining and preserving the culture of the Banjar people, ranging from culinary, traditional arts, to physical heritage such as rivers. This presentation received an enthusiastic response from the students, especially from those who wanted to know the programs and platforms of the new Banjarmasin City government. (admin)
