Banjarmasin — The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Unit of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University (FKIP ULM), reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the quality implementation of the Teaching Assistance Program through a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) activity held at Hotel Harper Banjarmasin on Monday, October 21, 2024. The event was attended by partner school administrators, supervising lecturers, as well as faculty leaders and support staff from FKIP ULM.

The event began at 1:00 PM WITA and was officially opened by the Dean of FKIP ULM, Prof. Dr. Sunarno Basuki, who in his opening remarks expressed his appreciation for the participation and cooperation of school principals and mentor teachers in supporting the success of the Teaching Assistance Program. He emphasized the importance of regular evaluations to identify solutions to implementation challenges, while also strengthening the identity of this program as a distinctive feature of LPTKs (Teacher Education Institutions).
Also present at the event was the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Deasy Arisanty, who served as facilitator during the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session. The event was also attended by the Head of the MBKM Unit, Raisa Fadilla, along with secretariat team members Hendro Yulius Suryo Putro, Arum Murdianingsih, and Rizky Febriyani Puteri; the Head of the Cooperation and Public Relations Unit (UPKH), Emma Rosana Febriyanti; the Head of the Quality Assurance Unit (UPM), Ananda Setiawan; program study coordinators; and representatives from partner schools across various educational levels.

In her address, MBKM Unit Head Raisa Fadilla emphasized that monitoring and evaluation are integral components of the MBKM program cycle. “We want to ensure that the presence of Teaching Assistance students not only benefits partner schools but also provides meaningful experiences that enhance students’ pedagogical, social, and professional competencies as future educators,” she said.
Raisa also presented preliminary evaluation findings gathered from discussions with participants, including the need to align program timelines with school academic calendars, strengthen coordination between the university and partner schools, and increase the active role of supervising lecturers in mentoring students.

Representatives from partner schools shared positive feedback regarding student contributions, highlighting their adaptability, active involvement in learning activities, and communication skills. However, some areas for improvement were also noted, such as the need to strengthen students’ initial preparedness and deepen their understanding of student characteristics.
The FGD session further explored the dynamics of program implementation in the field and formulated strategies for more effective collaboration moving forward. The event served as a collective reflection and reaffirmed the commitment of the MBKM Unit of FKIP ULM to sustaining and improving the quality of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program implementation.
