Banjarmasin – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held its first FKIP ULM Expo, an exhibition showcasing the excellence of all undergraduate and professional study programs within FKIP ULM. The event was held for three days from Thursday to Saturday, September 11-13, at the FKIP ULM open field, with the main target participants being high school students and equivalent school students, especially those in grade 12 who are preparing to plan their future after school. The expo featured 21 undergraduate department booths displaying various outstanding products and learning outcomes in accordance with their respective fields of study, ranging from science, language, social humanities, sports, and education. In addition to the undergraduate booths, the exhibition also featured a Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program booth that provided information on professional teacher education to teachers and students.
In addition to exhibitions from department and study program booths, visiting participants were also invited to take a campus tour to see various learning facilities and other supporting facilities from various departments. The expo also held a live performance competition from 21 departments that showcased the talents of their students, ranging from dance, poetry, drama, experiments, magic, and others.

According to the organizing committee and Deputy Dean of Finance and General Affairs, Dharmono, this event aims to introduce FKIP ULM more intensively to high school students and their equivalents, especially those in grade XII. In line with this, the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki, in his opening remarks at the Expo on Thursday, September 11, starting at 9:00 a.m. WITA at the Bauntung Stage, said that through this activity, he hoped to generate strong interest among students to continue their studies after high school at the FKIP ULM campus. After the opening, the FKIP ULM leadership, along with the department heads, unit heads, and division heads, visited the lively department booths to see the various specialties of each field of study, ranging from traditional music performances from the Performing Arts Education Department, chemistry experiments from the Chemistry Education Department, a parade of sports equipment from the Physical Education Department, to the presence of a game corner from the Computer Education Department.
The FKIP ULM Expo was a success, with approximately 500 visitors from 46 schools in South and Central Kalimantan, such as SMAN 2 Palangkaraya, SMAN 1 Marabahan, SMAN 1 Bakumpai, SLBN 1 Martapura, SMA PGRI 2 Banjarbaru, SMK SPP Pelaihari, SMAN 1 Tabunganen, MAN 3 Batola, SMAN 7 Banjarmasin, and others. In addition to students, university students also visited, both from ULM’s Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and other faculties such as the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL), and other faculties.
One of the visitors, Muhammad Afid Abdillah from SMK Farmasi Mandiri Banjarmasin, when interviewed by FKIP ULM Public Relations, expressed his enthusiasm for this event. “The event was really exciting. Every booth was interesting to visit, and there were also many challenges that made it even more exciting and interesting to try. Afid also learned about several faculties at ULM. It was all a great experience for Afid,” he said. Meanwhile, one of the booth supervisors from the physics education department, Isnaini Agus Setiono, expressed his appreciation for the event, “This event can be a socialization opportunity for us. Nearly 300 participants visited our booth to try out some of our innovations, such as a Peltier refrigerator, a solar power generator prototype, a telescope, and so on,” he said. (Admin)
