Banjarmasin – A number of undergraduate students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), along with students from other faculties within ULM, are scheduled to participate in an International Community Service Program (KKN) organized by the Academic Support Unit (UPA) of the Integrated Learning Mobility Program (MKBT) at ULM. This program will take place in Japan and Malaysia. Activities will be held on April 17 and May 16 in Felda Village, Malaysia, and from May 31 to June 10 in Kitakyushu, Japan. FKIP ULM students who passed the selection and are participating in this program include Rudy Mahmudi from the History Education Department, Muhammad Risky Awali from the Elementary School Teacher Education Department, Norhikmah from the Geography Education Department, and Humaidy from the English Language Education Department for the International KKN program to Malaysia. Meanwhile, those participating in the International Community Service Program to Japan include Adhwa Ramadhina, Naila Hasanah, Aika Aslama Afnan, Laiqa Qatrunnada Azzahra, and Ziska Ramadhani from the Department of English Language Education.

This International Community Service Program includes a range of activities involving student service in the host community. Among these activities, participants are asked to learn about the local culture, carry out reforestation efforts and e-commerce projects, as well as teach at schools and conduct health awareness campaigns. The students will also collaborate with students at local universities.

Adhwa, one of the participants in the International Community Service Program to Japan from the Department of English Education, expressed her enthusiasm about the activities she will be undertaking. “Alhamdulillah, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to take part in an international community service program in Japan. For me, this is not merely an achievement, but a responsibility to uphold and represent the values I believe in. I hope to turn this experience into a meaningful contribution—not just to be present, but to create an impact, no matter how small. May this be the beginning of a journey to keep growing, pushing boundaries, and bringing benefit to a wider community,” she said.
