Banjarmasin – The 2025 National Student Quran Recitation Competition (MTQMN) officially closed on Thursday evening, October 9, at the Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Auditorium in Banjarbaru. The event began with the recitation of Quranic verses by Said Agil Husin Al Munawar, followed by a report on the activities by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni of ULM, Muhammad Rusmin Nuryadin. According to Rusmin, this year’s MTQMN was attended by 1,506 participants from 194 universities throughout Indonesia who competed in 15 branches of MTQMN XVIII. The University of Islam Indonesia won the overall championship with a cumulative score of 128, followed by Malang State University as the second overall champion with a score of 116. ULM itself, along with Gadjah Mada University, successfully secured third place with the same score of 110.

A number of students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) ULM, together with their colleagues from all faculties at ULM, achieved outstanding results in this prestigious competition. Among those who won were Muhammad Taslim from the History Education Department as 2nd place winner in the Men’s Quran Recitation Competition; Team Syair Habsyi, Nanda Khairul Mawaly from the Elementary School Teacher Education Department (JPGSD), Muhammad Naufal Al Farisi and Muhammad Mundzir from the Educational Technology Department, Muhammad Zainul Muttaqin from the Pancasila and Civic Education Department (PPKn) as 2nd Runner-up in the Maulid Nabi Muhammad saw Poetry Recitation Competition; Muning from the English Education Department and Khairunnisa from the Special Education Department as 1st Runner-up in the Scientific Writing on the Contents of the Quran Competition; and Nurul Amira from JPGSD as 2nd Runner-up as a saritilawah reader in the Syarhil Quran Competition.
Regarding this achievement, the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki, expressed his appreciation. He hoped that this victory would strengthen the religious awareness of each winner. He also encouraged them to continue improving their achievements in the future.

According to one of the supervising lecturers, Noor Ainah, ULM students participating in MTQMN, including FKIP students, have been practicing every Saturday since April at the Baitul Hikmah Mosque and the ULM Charity House. “For the past month, they have been practicing every day. Alhamdulillah, their achievements are as expected,” she said. (Admin)
