Banjarmasin – The Department of Performing Arts Education (JPSP) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a music performance titled The 3rd Recital Concert for 2026 on Thursday, January 8. This event is a music concert that serves as the outcome of several courses, including the Individual Instrument Program (PIIP) I and II Guitar, PIIP I and II Violin, PIIP I Vocal, Guitar Class, Choir Class, and Basic Music Theory. Students from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts participated in the concert. The students were accompanied by their lecturers, Sherly Nur Hikmah and Akhmad Mu’izzanur Sastrabayu.

The event was held in the Hasan Bondan Hall starting at 1:00 p.m. WITA and was opened by the Head of JPSP FKIP ULM, Muhammad Budi Zakia Sani. The event was also attended by lecturers and all JPSP FKIP ULM students. According to the Head of JPSP, Zaki, this music performance is important in building self-confidence and providing a platform for students to channel their creativity in music. “This event has been held several times and is useful for training students to prepare performance concepts and perform in front of large audiences,” he said.

According to one of the accompanying lecturers, Sherly, this recital is an annual event for students majoring in music at JPSP FKIP ULM. In her view, this recital is not just an academic event or a form of final semester evaluation, but also a space for actualization, expression, and accountability for the learning process that students have undergone during the semester. “This year’s recital concept is themed around pop romance songs. The arrangements were created by groups of students with the help of lecturers and alumni. This year’s event was made simpler than the previous two consecutive recitals. The location was usually at Balairung Sari, Taman Budaya in the evening. This year, we are trying to hold it on campus, namely at Hasan Bondan, during the day,” he explained.
