Banjarmasin – The Department of Performing Arts Education (JPSP) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) is once again holding its Sendratasik Berkarya art performance for the 15th time. This year’s performance tells the story of South Kalimantan’s female hero, Queen Zaleha. The dance-drama-music collaboration performed by JPSP FKIP ULM students is titled “Sang Ratu” (The Queen) and is the result of the Performing Arts course taught by a team of lecturers consisting of Sulisno, Putri Yunita Permata Kumala Sari, and Novyandi Saputra. The event was held at the Balairungsari Taman Budaya Building in two sessions, namely the afternoon session starting at 3:00 p.m. WITA and the evening session starting at 7:45 p.m. WITA. The event was opened by the Head of JPSP, Muhammad Budi Zakia Sani, and was attended by JPSP lecturers and students as well as invited guests. Also present at this event was a member of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) representing South Kalimantan, who is also an alumnus of JPSP FKIP ULM, Muhammad Hidayattollah.
The performance of Sang Ratu tells the story of the feelings and psychological condition of a woman named Ratu Zaleha as she faces fear and anxiety after being exiled to Bogor. However, this fear may not necessarily happen and is only a negative thought. The story of The Queen attempts to combine historical conflict, past and present conditions, packaged in a combined performance of dance, music, theater, and other performing arts. Raisa Hafizatil Azkia plays the role of Queen Zaleha, directed by Muhammad Azmi Arief, supported by dancers, musicians, and actors who are students participating in the Performing Arts course.
According to the production leader of this performance, Muhammad Samad Ilham, Sendratasik Berkarya is not just a fulfillment of course requirements, but a dedication to the arts ecosystem, a space for collaboration, a space for networking among art activists, and a space for exchanging ideas. “We hope that Sendratasik Berkarya can benefit ourselves and others. We are aware that there are still many shortcomings in the organization and presentation of this event. Given its educational nature, we are open to all feedback and evaluations regarding Sendratasik Berkarya,” he said. (Admin)
