Banjarmasin – The Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has once again held an Academic Orientation Training Program for PPG Prospective Teachers (Cagur) in the First Intake of 2026. This event was held ahead of the start of classes for PPG Cagur students, which began on January 2. The training took place in the General Building Lecture Theater at ULM starting at 8:30 a.m. WITA. The event was opened by the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki, and attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Deasy Arisanty; the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, Dharmono; the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Ali Rachman; the PPG Program Coordinator, Hidayah Ansori; the PPG program coordinators; the heads of service divisions; the administrators of the FKIP ULM PPG Program; as well as 426 students of the FKIP ULM PPG Program.
In his opening remarks, Sunarno Basuki expressed his hope that the students would make the most of their time to train as professional teachers while adapting to the ongoing changes in the world of education, particularly in schools. He also hoped that the upcoming classes would run smoothly and that all students would graduate so they could be certified as prospective professional teachers ready to teach. In line with this, Hidayah Ansori also stated that students would be taught material tailored to the requirements of becoming professional teachers. During their Field Experience Practice (PPL) at schools, students are also required to conduct research for Classroom Action Research (PTK) related to the teaching practices they implement.
In the first intake of the Cagur PPG program for 2026, 11 fields of study are offered to a total of 426 students, namely: Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) with 180 students; Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) with 70 students; Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) with 40 students; Guidance and Counseling (BK) with 32 students; Mathematics with 19 students; Computer Science with 17 students; Social Sciences (IPS) with 17 students; Indonesian Language with 16 students; Early Childhood Education (PG PAUD) with 15 students; Natural Sciences (IPA) with 14 students; and Special Education (PKh) with 6 students.
Several topics were covered in this training session, including the policies and vision and mission of the PPG Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, ULM, presented by Dharmono; the PPG Cagur curriculum, presented by Hidayah Ansori; and the Learning Management System (LMS), presented by Galih Rizki Khairul Ulum.
