Jakarta – A student with special needs named Mutiara Rahmadani from the Department of Special Education (JPKh) at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) won second place in the women’s visually impaired recitation category at the 2026 National Quran Recitation Week organized by the Public Broadcasting Institution (LPP) Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) National Level in 2026. This event was held in stages by LPP RRI Headquarters, and the competition finals took place on Friday-Saturday, February 27-28, in Jakarta.
According to Mutiara, RRI’s online selection process involved collecting video submissions. Participants came from various regions across Indonesia. The selection process resulted in six representatives: three women and three men. Afterward, the selected participants were supported by RRI to attend the final event in Jakarta on February 27, while the winners were announced on February 28. “The preparation time was very short. I received information about the competition final on Monday, just four days before the event. Fortunately, I had already mastered the recitation piece for the competition and just needed to review it to be better prepared,” explained Mutiara.
Regarding this victory, Mutiara feels grateful. “I didn’t expect to win this national competition because my preparation time was too short. But I realized that when we love the Quran, everything becomes easier,” she said. She also urged Muslims not to abandon the Quran, “Never abandon the Quran because it is a light for us,” she concluded.
Congratulations to the winners! May you continue to achieve great things and be an inspiration to everyone. (Admin)
