Banjarmasin – Following a field evaluation conducted several weeks ago for its establishment permit, the Doctoral Program in Natural Sciences Education at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has officially received its operational permit via Ministerial Decree No. 608/B/0/2026 from the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology No. 608/B/0/2026 regarding the Permit to Open the Doctoral Program in Natural Sciences Education at Lambung Mangkurat University in Banjarmasin. This was welcomed with joy by various parties, including the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at ULM, Sunarno Basuki. This Doctoral Program in Natural Sciences Education will operate under the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at ULM and is ready to recruit new students for the 2026-2027 academic year’s odd-semester intake.
According to the decision, the Doctoral Program in Science Education must fulfill its establishment requirements, including complying with national higher education standards in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and reporting the results of the program’s implementation to the Minister no later than one month after the end of each semester.
According to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Deasy Arisanty, in accordance with the recommendations of the evaluation team that assessed the feasibility of establishing the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program in Science Education some time ago, five students will be admitted for the inaugural intake. “We are coordinating the new student registration process with the ULM Graduate School, which has been responsible for the admission of new master’s and doctoral students at ULM. The ULM Faculty of Teacher Training and Education has already prepared the facilities and infrastructure for the academic program, including an orientation process for new students,” she explained.
