The Social Humanities Research Student Creativity Program Team (PKM-RSH) The Biology Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), which is part of the Artuloka group, achieved a proud accomplishment at the 2025 National Student Creativity Seminar held by Palangkaraya University on Thursday, September 4. In the competition, the Artuloka Team successfully won the Best Presentation Material Design Award 1, surpassing various teams from other universities in Indonesia.

The Artuloka team is led by Rena Rizki Ananda, with team members Azkia Nurrahmah, Nur Jannah Ramadhani, Syamila Ghina Tiara Putri, and Aulia Azizah Hayati. They receive direct guidance from Field Supervisor (DPL) Riya Irianti. This team successfully secured PKM-RSH Year 2025 Cluster 1 funding with their research entitled “Design of an Augmented Reality-Based Educational Game on South Kalimantan’s Unique Flora to Train Students’ Awareness of the Preservation of Potential Plants.” During the presentation, the Artuloka team was represented by Rena and Azkia. The research results were presented by Azkia, who explained the process of inventorying medicinal plants unique to South Kalimantan and the development of an AR-based educational game prototype. The visual quality and informative presentation of the material captivated the judging panel, ultimately earning the team the Best Presentation Design Award 1.

According to Rena, this research stems from the need to provide learning media that is more contextual, interactive, digitally based, and relevant to local wisdom. Amidst technological developments and the global flow of information, it is important to bring back local values that are rich in meaning, such as knowledge about the unique flora of South Kalimantan, in a format that is more attractive and accessible to the younger generation. To that end, she said, the Artuloka team took the initiative to develop an Augmented Reality (AR)-based educational game as an innovative learning medium. This game is designed not only to increase students’ knowledge of local biodiversity, but also to foster awareness of the preservation of endemic plants that have high ecological and cultural value in a fun learning process.

“We are very grateful and proud of this achievement. This award is the result of solid teamwork and excellent guidance from our supervisors. It is a great motivation for us to continue working and innovating. We hope that this educational game can be a first step in preserving the unique flora of South Kalimantan while inspiring the younger generation to care more about the environment. Going forward, the team is committed to continuing to refine the game’s design and features, conducting trials in schools, and evaluating the learning outcomes. It is hoped that the results of this program will make a real contribution to education and the preservation of biodiversity in Indonesia, especially in South Kalimantan,” said Rena.

Congratulations to the winners. May you continue to achieve great things and inspire others. (Admin)
