Banjarmasin – Nine lecturers and one educational staff member from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Department (JPBSI) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) participated in Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) training and certification testing held by the ULM Professional Certification Institute (LSP). The training was held at the Harper Hotel on Wednesday-Thursday, September 27-28, and the certification exam was held on September 11 at the FKIP ULM Economics and Science Computer Laboratory. The lecturers and teaching staff of JPBSI FKIP ULM who participated in this activity were Noor Cahaya, Ahsani Taqwiem, Dewi Alfianti, Lita Luthfiyanti, Faradina, Wenny Noorahim, Syaifullah, Aulia Novitasari, Arum Murdianingsih, and Achmad Akbari.

The first day of training began with a presentation on the use of Microsoft in 21st century learning by instructor Novan Alkaf Bahraini Saputra, followed by the creation of Certiport accounts by Muhammad Andrian. On the second day, participants received material related to the importance of developing personal skills in constructing knowledge, solving problems, and developing self-regulation skills by utilizing technology, particularly various Microsoft applications. This material was presented by the Director of LSP ULM, Suratno.

In the certification test conducted on Thursday, September 11, all 10 training participants were declared competent. Regarding this certification, the Head of JPBSI, Noor Cahaya, said that his party included several JPBSI lecturers and administrators in the MCE not only to equip educators with 21st-century skills so that they are able to think critically, think creatively, collaborate, and communicate, as well as have new literacy skills and character skills, but also to help improve JPBSI’s KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). “With internationally certified lecturers, our department will have added value in terms of international collaboration, training, and cross-campus teaching. This is very important, especially in terms of achieving international accreditation for the department. Indirectly, this MCE activity will also encourage lecturers to become digital learning practitioners whose expertise benefits the community or educational partners. In lectures, this will be evident through the use of technology in collaborative learning, utilizing applications widely available on Microsoft itself, and integrated through the use of the Simari ULM Learning Management System (LMS),” he explained.
