The Sociology Education Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University successfully held a Basic Student Leadership and Organizational Management Training (LKMM) on Sunday-Tuesday, September 14-16, in Loksado Village, Hulu Sungai Selatan. This activity was intended for students and administrators of the Sociology Education Student Association (HIMA) in order to strengthen their leadership and student organization management capacities. The series of events was officially opened by the Head of the Sociology Education Department, Rochgiyanti, and featured speakers from academia, including lecturers from the Sociology Education Department of FKIP ULM, Yandi Aulia Rahman, a teacher from SMAN 1 Barabai, Ria Fahrina, and Mukhtar Fuaddi from SMAN 2 Kandangan, who is also an alumnus of the Sociology Education Department of FKIP ULM.
During the event, participants received training in leadership, organizational management, and sociological knowledge of religion and politics relevant to the development needs of today’s students. Group discussions, mini presentations, light outbound activities, and various simulations were held to support the process of character building and managerial skills development among students. The event ran smoothly with active participation from all participants and concluded with the hope that similar activities would continue to be held as a strategic effort to improve the quality of FKIP ULM student resources. Rochgiyanti, Head of the Sociology Education Department, assessed that this training contributed significantly to strengthening the competence, solidarity, and professionalism of students as future leaders and drivers of student organizations in the FKIP ULM academic environment.
