Banjarmasin – The Department of Pancasila and Civic Education (JPPKn) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) is once again holding BABARAKAT (Basaing, Baramian, Rakat) for 2025. The event was opened with an Opening Ceremony on Monday, October 6, and was officially inaugurated by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Ali Rachman. The BABARAKAT event consists of a series of competitions, including the International Scientific Writing Competition (LKTI), the National Essay Competition, the 2025 PPKn Prince and Princess Pageant, and a mini-soccer competition participated in by active students, lecturers, and alumni of JPPKn FKIP ULM.
One of the competitions, the PPKn Prince and Princess Pageant, was also held successfully and merrily. Several stages of the competition included interviews and written tests conducted at the PPKn Laboratory of FKIP ULM, talent selection where participants were asked to showcase their academic and non-academic talents, and a series of photo sessions and training sessions covering public speaking, personal branding, and beauty classes to equip participants with skills and knowledge about makeup and skin care. Other competitions, such as LKTI and Essai, were conducted by having participants submit their manuscripts to the committee, which were then assessed by a predetermined panel of judges. The results of the assessment were announced online through the committee’s official website and social media. The BABARAKAT event series officially concluded on Friday, October 24, at the Balairung Sari Building, Taman Budaya, with one of the highlights being the Grand Final of the 2025 PPKn Youth Competition.
This activity is also the final work program of the JPPKn FKIP ULM Student Association (Hima) board for the 2024/2025 period. During this closing event, the Hima PPKn executive board also expressed their deepest gratitude to the faculty leadership, lecturers, and all parties involved, both directly and indirectly, in the activities that have been carried out. They also congratulated the selected PPKn students and other winners.
