Riau Islands – The leadership of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) once again participated in the 2025 FKIP Communication Forum Summit (Forkom) held at Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (Umrah) in Riau Islands Province. The event was held from Thursday to Sunday, October 30 to November 2, starting at 8:00 a.m. The FKIP ULM leaders who attended the event included Dean Sunarno Basuki; Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Deasy Arisanty; Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs Dharmono; and Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni Ali Rachman.
This event was held in four sessions, namely the opening session, the national seminar session, the leadership commission meeting session consisting of a meeting of deans, vice deans for academic affairs, vice deans for finance and general affairs, and vice deans for student affairs and alumni, and concluded with a closing session. The national seminar, held on Friday, October 31, featured speakers including Ravik Karsidi, Member of the Higher Education Council and Professor at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, who presented a paper titled “Transformation of Excellent and Globally Competitive Teacher Education”; and a Professor from the Future Strategy Department at Korea National University of Education, who presented a paper titled “The Teacher Education System in Korea and the Development of Pre-Service Teacher Competencies.”

At the commission meeting, the Dean of FKIP ULM conveyed that among the important points of agreement among the deans was the need to synchronize the activities carried out by FKIP members of Forkom with the universities organizing the interim meetings and summit meetings so that Forkom, as the umbrella organization for FKIP throughout Indonesia, could be more widely promoted. At this meeting, Sunarno Basuki also signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Dean of FKIP Riau State University (Unri), Jimmy Kopriadi. It was also agreed at this meeting that the host for the 2026 interim meeting would be Nusa Cendana University (Undana), Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, and the 2026 summit meeting would be held at Pattimura State University, Maluku.
Meanwhile, at the meeting of the vice deans for academic affairs, Deasy Arisanty presented several academic program plans to be held jointly with Forkom members, namely the reactivation of the ‘Permata Forkom’ student exchange program, the implementation of short courses, and the implementation of the Nusantara Field Experience Practice (PPL)/Real Work Lecture (KKN). “FKIP ULM has been appointed to develop guidelines for the Permata Forkom program. I have already coordinated this with the MBKM team, which is responsible for student exchange activities,” said Deasy. On the other hand, at the meeting of the vice deans for finance and general affairs, Dharmono conveyed a number of notes. “Among the work programs to be implemented are the preparation of microteaching and smartclass room laboratory standardization in accordance with Lamdik (Independent Education Accreditation Agency -Ed) standards, and the planning of K3 and ZI Competency Certificates to be held by FKIPs throughout Indonesia,” explained Dharmono.
At the closing ceremony, the committee announced and distributed prizes to the winning students of the Forkom competition, including students from FKIP ULM. FKIP ULM students who won the Forkom competition included Anai from the Chemistry Education Department in the Social Humanities Microteaching Practice competition with Field Supervisors (DPL) Yogo Dwi Prasetyo and Sriwati; as well as dance team students from the Performing Arts Education Department in the Creative Dance competition with DPL Putri Dyah Indriyani.
