Banjarmasin – As in previous years, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) is once again holding its Outstanding Academic Community Selection event for 2025 this November. This activity is a response to quality indicators in the field of institutional management, namely the awarding of honors to the academic community, including lecturers, students, and educational staff.

The socialization of this activity was held on Wednesday, November 12, via a Zoom conference starting at 11:00 a.m. WITA. The socialization event was hosted and narrated by the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dharmono. The event was opened by the Dean, Sunarno Basuki, and attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Deasy Arisanty; the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Ali Rachman; the Head of the General Affairs Division, Isnawati; department coordinators (kajur) and department secretaries (sekjur); the head of services; the head of the unit; and the head of cleaning and security staff at FKIP ULM, who are part of the faculty’s teaching staff, as well as the faculty-level selection committee.

In his opening remarks, Sunarno Basuki expressed his appreciation for the continuity of this program. According to him, selecting the best-performing members of the academic community is not only a form of appreciation from the faculty for their achievements, but also an important part of assessing the quality of FKIP ULM. He hoped that this series of activities would run successfully.

During the socialization, Dharmono explained the categories of civitas that will be selected, namely lecturers, including outstanding lecturers, outstanding department heads and secretaries, as well as technical staff, including outstanding service division heads, outstanding faculty technical staff, outstanding operators (departments and units), outstanding laboratory assistants, outstanding security personnel, and outstanding cleaning personnel. Meanwhile, for outstanding students, the selection was carried out in August by the student affairs and alumni department.

Similar to 2024, the selection will be conducted in two stages, namely stage 1 selection, which will be held on November 11-22, covering the assessment of lecturers, operators, and laboratory assistants at the department level by the head of department and the team. For technical staff, this first stage of selection will be conducted by the immediate superiors of each technical staff member, while the heads of departments will be selected by the vice dean of finance and general affairs and the head of general affairs. The selection of outstanding department heads and secretaries will be conducted by the faculty leadership (dean and vice dean).

Each department then sends one best candidate for lecturer and operator, while the technical staff assessors collect all assessment documents at the faculty selection committee. At the faculty level, the selection team ranked the collected data and selected the top three lecturers, department heads, department secretaries, and outstanding technical staff; the top two operators, cleaning staff, and outstanding security staff; and the top chairperson and outstanding laboratory assistant.

In stage 2, the candidates, especially those from the academic community and outstanding teaching staff categories, will give presentations at the Technical Guidance (Bimtek) on Strengthening the Integrity of FKIP ULM Employees, which will be held on November 28-30. These presentations will be evaluated by faculty leaders, and the top three rankings (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) will be determined. For other categories such as department heads, operators, laboratory assistants, customer service representatives, and security personnel, the rankings will be based on the highest scores without presentations.

Closing his presentation, Dharmono expressed his hope that this series of activities would run smoothly and be beneficial to the progress of FKIP ULM. (admin)
