Regarding the glorious victory in athletics, coach Akhmad Amirudin said that the training process was quite long and required a lot of discipline. “We trained in a programmed, focused, regular, and measured manner. We focused our training for approximately two years from 2024 to 2025 to prepare for the Tanah Laut Provincial Sports Week. Training takes place from Monday to Saturday, with morning and afternoon sessions, but we still adjust the schedule to accommodate their academic commitments, ensuring everything runs smoothly,” he said.

“It’s a mixture of pride, joy, emotion, and relief. All the sacrifices of time, energy, thought, and even money can be repaid with victory, with some even breaking the South Kalimantan record in the women’s 400m race. Alhamdulillah, they are also the overall champions in Athletics. As coaches, we are very proud of the achievements of the Physical Education students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at ULM. Not only have they brought honor to their region, but they have also brought glory to their alma mater as ULM students. We hope that their achievements will be recognized, which we hope will provide additional motivation to continue training until they achieve victory at both the national and international levels, which could ultimately impact the university’s institutional performance indicators,” he added enthusiastically.

Meanwhile, Henny Anggraeny, winner of two gold medals and one silver medal in the athletics relay event, said she did not expect to break the women’s 400m record. She felt happy, proud, and moved. “For future plans, I won’t be resting for too long. I will return to the training program with my coach to evaluate my technique, maintain my physical condition, and prepare myself for higher-level competitions such as the National Sports Week, Pre-PON, and National Championships. Thank you for everyone’s support,” she said.

Meanwhile, Faisal, who won a medal in athletics, expressed his joy. “I am very happy, proud, and touched to be able to bring home a gold medal for the Tanah Laut Regency contingent in the men’s 4×400 meters. This moment is one of the greatest achievements in my life, which was once just a dream, and today I was finally able to realize it through relentless effort and hard work,” he said. (Admin)
