Banjarmasin – On Thursday, March 12, several lecturers from the Department of Indonesian Language and Literature Education (JPBSI) at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) attended the Regional Conference (Musda) of the Oral Tradition Association (ATL) of South Kalimantan (Kalsel). The event, held to form the ATL Kalsel executive board for the 2026–2030 term, took place in the FKIP ULM Faculty Meeting Room and via the Zoom video conferencing platform, starting at 2:00 PM WITA in a hybrid format. The event was opened by the ATL Kalsel Advisory Board member, Rustam Effendi, and attended by several lecturers from the JPBSI Department at FKIP ULM, including JPBSI Professors Jumadi and Rusma Noortyani; JPBSI Chairperson Noor Cahaya; and other JPBSI lecturers. Also in attendance were Professors and faculty members from the Department of English Language Education at FKIP ULM, Fatchul Muin and Noor Eka Candra; the Dean of FKIP at Muhammadiyah University of Banjarmasin (UMB), Ahmad Syakir, and a faculty member from FKIP UMB, Jamiatul Hamidah; lecturers from the University of PGRI South Kalimantan (UPK), Ida Komalasari, Humaidi, and Novia Winda; BRIN staff member, Derri Ris Riana; writer Hamiati Masy’ud; and cultural figure, Setia Budhi.
According to the Chairperson of ATL South Kalimantan, Rusma Noortyani, this meeting aimed to reorganize the leadership structure of ATL South Kalimantan, as requested by the National ATL, to align with the latest leadership term, 2026–2030, which was originally set for 2024–2028. A number of adjustments were also made regarding the latest leadership structure. “ATL South Kalimantan has implemented a number of programs to preserve oral traditions, ranging from online and in-person discussions on oral traditions, to organizing Banjar oral tradition expression competitions for high school students, to publishing a book chapter on Banjar oral traditions. Moving forward during this term, we will remain active in the maintenance and preservation of Banjar oral traditions,” she explained.
Based on the results of the deliberations, the leadership structure of ATL South Kalimantan for the 2026–2030 term is as follows: the Advisory Board consists of Rustam Effendi, Jumadi, Fatchul Mu’in, Taufik Arbain, Setia Budhi, and Sirajudin; Chairperson, Rusma Noortyani; Vice Chairperson, Derri Ris Riana; Secretary, Ahsani Taqwiem; Deputy Secretary, Jamiatul Hamidah; Treasurer, Faradina; Deputy Treasurer, Novia Winda; Head of Research and Training, Sumasno Hadi; Head of the Publication and Documentation Division, Dewi Alfianti; Head of the Community Empowerment Division, Ida Komalasari; Head of the Festival and Performance Division, Muhammad Budi Zakia Sani; Head of the Business Development and Creative Economy Division, Lita Luthfiyanti. Under the division heads, a number of division members have been incorporated into the structure.
