In his opening remarks, Dharmono expressed his appreciation for the progress made by the ICT Unit in managing the internet network, which has expanded from megabytes to gigabytes. In his assessment, he no longer encountered significant obstacles in using the internet, particularly in lecture halls. Although satisfied with this achievement, Dharmono still hopes that the ICT Unit will continue to innovate to maximize the use of information technology.
According to a presentation by the ICT Unit team, over the past four years, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at ULM has successfully increased its network capacity by 537%, a milestone that reflects the institution’s commitment to supporting digital transformation in education. In line with the increasing need for data access, online learning, and digital platform integration, FKIP ULM has systematically strengthened its network infrastructure by upgrading AP devices, user capacity, and aggregate bandwidth; optimizing servers and management systems; managing bandwidth usage; and expanding internet access coverage across the campus.
According to Nuruddin Wiranda, Head of the ICT Unit at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at ULM, this development is being carried out in phases but is focused on progress and achieving milestones. “This development began with an evaluation of the initial state of the network, which was previously limited, then in response to the ACQUIN International Accreditation from 2024 through the on-site assessment in 2026. We began preparing for it thoroughly. Through optimization of more advanced hardware and software, we also significantly increased bandwidth capacity. My team and I would also like to thank the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki; the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dharmono; the Head of General Affairs and State Assets, Dedy Rizani; and the Head of Finance, Indra Nur Adhitya, who have all contributed to supporting this achievement, enabling us to provide a faster, more stable, and adaptive network service for everyone at FKIP ULM. “Moving forward, this achievement is expected to serve as a foundation for innovation in the broader field of education, so that FKIP ULM can keep pace with technological advancements and play an active role in shaping a digital and sustainable future for education,” he said passionately.
