Banjarmasin – The Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Study Program (PS) at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) on Friday-Saturday, May 22-23, hosted assessors from the Independent Education Accreditation Agency (LAMDIK) who conducted a Field Assessment (AL) for the reaccreditation of the PPG Study Program. This reaccreditation through LAMDIK is the first time it has been conducted after previously undergoing accreditation through the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BANPT). The event was held in the FKIP ULM Professors’ Meeting Room starting at 8:00 a.m. WITA. The two assessors assigned to the task were Professor Sarwanto from Sebelas Maret State University (UNS) in Surakarta and Dr. Luqman Hakim from Surabaya State University (Unesa).
The event was opened by ULM Rector Ahmad and attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at ULM, Sunarno Basuki; the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Deasy Arisanty; the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs, who also serves as the Acting Coordinator of the PPG Program at FKIP ULM, Dharmono; the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Ali Rachman; Secretary of the ULM Quality Assurance and Learning Development Institute (LPMPP), Arif Solahuddin; Head of the General Affairs Division of FKIP ULM, Isnawati; Head of the Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) of FKIP ULM, Ananda Setiawan, and the UPM team; the heads of units and service divisions within FKIP ULM; the administrators of the PPG Study Program at FKIP ULM, the task force team, and other invited guests.

In his opening remarks, ULM Rector Ahmad expressed his appreciation for the assessors’ visit and hoped that the reception they received would be to their liking. He also highlighted several achievements across various fields that ULM has attained, including the attainment of international accreditation for 9 departments in the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP) at ULM and plans for international accreditation for 7 additional departments, accreditation for research and community service funding, the development of the PSDKU (Off-Campus Study Programs), and grant commitments from the local government in South Kalimantan, which demonstrate synergy between the campus and the broader community. He also expressed hope that the PPG Program, as the “offspring” of all departments within the ULM Faculty of Education, would follow in the footsteps of the “excellent” status already achieved by all undergraduate programs in the ULM Faculty of Education.

The two assessors conducted the assessment in accordance with the UPPS (Study Program Management Unit) assessment agenda, specifically the faculty under the leadership of Dean Sunarno Basuki; The assessment by the PS PPG task force continued with interviews of stakeholders, alumni, educational staff, as well as faculty and students of the study program. The assessment also covered facilities and infrastructure, and the microteaching process.

During the wrap-up session at the end of the assessment, both assessors presented recommendations, which included highlighting several strengths of the PPG Program, particularly its clear vision and mission centered on wetland characteristics, sound institutional governance, a well-structured curriculum, and faculty, students, and educational staff with strong qualifications and high quality. Regarding areas for improvement, they emphasized that it is crucial for the PPG Program at FKIP ULM to establish a documentation system covering all stages of quality assurance and the activities conducted by the program, so that achievements across all quality aspects can be clearly observed and measured. In response, Sunarno Basuki expressed appreciation for the strengths highlighted and committed to making the necessary improvements and enhancements. (Admin)
