Banjarmasin – The Professional Teacher Education (PPG) Study Program (PS) at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has been accredited as “excellent” by the Independent Education Accreditation Agency (Lamdik) with a score of 36.8, as stated in Lamdik Decree No. 986/SK/LAMDIK/Ak/P/VI/2026. Previously, the FKIP ULM PPG Study Program underwent a reaccreditation process following its previous accreditation rating of “B” from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). This news was warmly welcomed by the leadership of FKIP ULM. Dean Sunarno Basuki expressed his gratitude, saying, “With the issuance of this accreditation rating for the PPG Study Program, it means that all study programs and departments at FKIP ULM have achieved excellence. Hopefully, we can all maintain this rating well in the future,” he said.
Dharmono, the Acting Chair of the PPG Program at the FKIP ULM—who also serves as the Associate Dean for Finance and General Affairs—joined in celebrating this “excellent” accreditation rating. According to him, preparations had been underway since 2025, and the task force had been working at full capacity to prepare the Self-Evaluation Report (LED) for the past six months. “We even worked on preparations during our time off. We’re grateful the results met our expectations,” he said. Moving forward, in an effort to maintain quality, the PPG Study Program will continue to improve its standards, including the completion of the PPG building. “Hopefully, it can be finished this year or next year. We will also focus on increasing both the quantity and quality of PPG-based research and community service so that our ‘excellent’ rating can be further improved in the future,” he added.
Meanwhile, according to Ananda Setiawan, Head of the Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) at FKIP ULM, this achievement is the result of a shared commitment to building a culture of sustainable quality—from planning, implementation, and evaluation to control and well-documented follow-up improvements. From the UPM’s perspective, the key to success lies in strengthening the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI), consistent monitoring and evaluation, the use of data for decision-making, and the active involvement of all stakeholders in maintaining quality standards.
“I am grateful for this outstanding achievement. Moving forward, the challenge we must face is to maintain and further improve the quality we have achieved. UPM needs to continue fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement, strengthening the digitization of its quality assurance systems, enhancing the quality of academic and non-academic services, expanding its partnership networks, and ensuring that all recommendations from evaluation and accreditation processes are systematically followed up on. In this way, the ‘excellent’ rating will not merely be an administrative achievement but will also be reflected in the quality of our graduates, stakeholder satisfaction, and tangible contributions to improving the quality of education in Indonesia,” he said enthusiastically.
Congratulations to the PPG Study Program at FKIP ULM on achieving “excellent” accreditation, as well as to all study programs and departments within FKIP ULM. May you continue to consistently maintain and improve quality. (AdmIn)
