Banjarmasin – On Monday, June 22, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) welcomed a visit from the management of the Al Izzah Foundation in Balangan. The foundation, which oversees the Darul Fikri Integrated Islamic School (SIT), was welcomed by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Deasy Arisanty, representing the Dean of FKIP ULM, Sunarno Basuki, who was simultaneously chairing a FKIP senate meeting. The delegation, consisting of SIT Supervisor Donald Simarmata; Head of the Education Division, Sri Rahmiyati; and Education Division Staff Member Ismi Noor Indah Sari, was also welcomed by the Head of the General Affairs Department, Isnawati; the Chair of the Cooperation and Public Relations Management Unit (UPKH), Emma Rosana Febriyanti; and the UPKH team.
In her remarks, Deasy warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed her willingness to assist with the visit. Regarding the visit, the management of the Al Izzah Foundation expressed their desire to establish a partnership with the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at ULM, particularly regarding the assessment process for students with special needs (PDBK), many of whom are enrolled at the Al Izzah Foundation. They also requested assistance with promoting the recruitment of teaching staff from FKIP ULM graduates.
In response to this, Deasy explained that her organization has long been deeply committed to the education of students with special needs. One example of this is the opening of RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) classes for the Special Education (PKh) program in several regencies in South Kalimantan. She also instructed foundation administrators to immediately contact the Special Education Department to arrange training for special education support teachers for students with special needs.
