To Discuss the Curriculum, the English Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, UMB, Visits the Indonesian Association of English Language Teachers at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, ULM

Banjarmasin – On Tuesday, June 23, the Department of Indonesian Language and Literature Education (JPBSI) at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) received a benchmarking visit from the (PS) in Indonesian Language Education (PBI) at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Muhammadiyah University of Banjarmasin (UMB). The visiting delegation from FKIP UMB consisted of the Dean, Ahmad Syakir; the PBI Program Coordinator, Istiqomah; the Thesis Unit Manager, Ridha Nazharullah; and a member of the FKIP Quality Assurance Team (GPM), Nurleha. The delegation was welcomed by the Chair of JPBSI, Noor Cahaya, accompanied by JPBSI administrators and faculty members.

In her opening remarks, Noor Cahaya expressed her appreciation for the visit by the PS PBI FKIP UMB team and expressed her hope that both parties could learn from one another. Following the opening, the event continued with a presentation on the curriculum at JPBSI FKIP ULM by the Chair of the JPBSI Quality Assurance Group, Dewi Alfianti. In her presentation, she discussed the curriculum structure and the implementation of the OBE (Outcome-Based Education) concept within the curriculum.

During the discussion session, the conversation focused primarily on curriculum planning, ranging from determining credit hour weights, selecting courses, and balancing course offerings within each academic discipline, to evaluating Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLOs) and revising the curriculum.

In addition to discussions regarding the curriculum, during this meeting each Study Program and Department also shared their respective visions and missions with one another in order to gather feedback from both sides. Discussions on this topic focused on the distinctive characteristics of each Study Program and Department’s vision. (Admin)
