ULM Appoints 4 Full Professors at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Strengthening Expertise in 4 Different Academic Disciplines

Banjarmasin – The Senate of Lambung Mangkurat University once again held an open meeting to install six new full professors, four of whom are from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP). The event took place on Tuesday, March 31, at the ULM Auditorium in Banjarbaru, starting at 9:00 a.m. WITA, and was attended by the leadership and all members of the ULM Senate, the rector and vice rectors, as well as invited guests from both within and outside ULM. The full professors inaugurated from FKIP ULM are Chairil Faif Pasani from the Department of Mathematics Education, Ali Rachman from the Department of Guidance and Counseling, Syahmani (JBK) from the Department of Chemistry Education, and Syaharuddin from the Department of Social Sciences Education (JPISP). With the addition of these full professors, the number of full professors at FKIP ULM has increased from 18 to 22.

In the reading of the biographies of the full professors presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at ULM, Sunarno Basuki, the fields of expertise of each full professor were mentioned: Chairil Faif Pasani in the field of values and character education, Ali Rachman in the field of evaluation, guidance, and counseling, Syahmani in the field of developing metacognition-based chemistry learning models, and Syaharuddin in the field of social studies learning strategies. Sunarno Basuki also noted that all the newly appointed Full Professors have demonstrated profound expertise, making them fully deserving of the title of Full Professor.

In their respective inaugural lectures, each full professor demonstrated their commitment to their respective fields. Chairil Faif Pasani delivered a lecture on the urgency of mathematical values and character in 21st-century learning (concepts and stages of internalizing character values in mathematics education). Ali Rachman discussed the ADIEF model as a framework for evaluating basic services within the accountability framework of guidance and counseling governance. Meanwhile, Syahmani presented on a metacognition-based chemistry learning model to prepare a generation of problem solvers and reflective thinkers through deep learning, and Syaharuddin discussed the integration of religious (moral) education and social studies education as a strategy for building a values-based Generation Z in the digital age.
